Charity Fundraiser

11th March 2017
After posting a couple of my images of Emley TV mast on social media recently, I was contacted by a customer who duly purchased a copy of one of those images. He later asked if I would be interested in auctioning the images on the net with the aim of raising funds for Kirkwood Hospice in Huddersfield.

I was flattered to be asked and even more delighted when it was suggested that I present the signed and framed copies to the highest bidders at the top of England's tallest structure, Emley TV mast between Huddersfield and Wakefield. The mast stands 1094' tall and dominates the skyline for miles around. The small lift takes around seven or eight minutes to reach the top!

As the auctions both finished I was delighted to see that a total of £1038 was raised for the Hospice. I would like to thank everyone who participated in the auction and also the many people that shared the post of social media to ensure as many people as possible saw the opportunity.

I will post some shots from the top of the mast and am praying for a clear day. The experience will certainly test my head for heights!!

Photo comment By John Thwaite: Fabulous photos. Cannot wait to see those you took at the top of the Tower on Fri 31 March.
