Standedge Success

03rd April 2011
A great weekend celebrating the bi-centenary of the opening of Standedge Tunnel at Marsden. The tunnel was opened on 4th April 1811 and is still the longest and deepest tunnel in the UK. It carries the Huddersfield Narrow Canal through the Pennines over to Lancashire.

A weekend of celebrations and events was very well attended by both the old and young alike. I exhibited my work as part of the Craft Fair held in the visitor centre. It was the first event I had attended in the last four years where I marketed work centred solely on the surrounding location and Huddersfield.

The response was fantastic with a good number of sales and promises of others to come. I met some very nice people including a couple of other pro-photographers from "over t'hill" (both of whom were very complimentary of my work).

Thanks to everyone who took time to stop and look, talk, show interest and even purchase my work.
